A South African man has gotten himself into trouble with the authorities after flaunting his account balance on social media in a bid to show off his financial status.
The man known as @QhubifaC on Twitter, took to the microblogging platform on Thursday, February 11 and shared a screenshot of his account balance which had R14.5m (N380m).
He posted the screenshot after another man posted his R1.4m (N36m) account balance on Twitter. @QhubifaC, thinking it was a new social media challenge, shared his and appeared that have attracted the attention of the authorities.
In a post via his page today, the young man cried out that he is under investigation over the amount in his account
He said that his personal and business accounts had been frozen and he was being probed by the South African Revenue service.
The young man whose Twitter account has now been suspended, further explained that he got the money as a result of his hard work and not anything illegal.
