One celebrity in a family is rare. Two celebrities is even rarer. But one celebrity who gives birth to another celebrity that goes on to become a household name that stands on his/her own without the parent, now that is super rare!

1. Mayorkun

Wildly successful Nigerian singer Mayorkun famous for songs like Eleko and Betty Butter is actually the son of popular Nollywood actress and producer Toyin Adewale. While at first she didn’t want her son getting into the entertainment industry, she later changed her mind and gave him her blessings. He has gone on to make a mega name for himself.

2. Falz

Nigerian rapper and musician Folarin Falana popularly known as Falz is actually the son of one of Nigeria’s most popular lawyers Femi Falana (SAN) who is also a human rights activist and the chairman of the National Conscience Party in 2011. Falz followed closely in his father’s footsteps graduating with a degree in law from the University of Reading and also becoming a human rights activist who uses his music and celebrity platform to not only entertain but also educate.

3. Davido

One of Nigeria’s most successful musicians Davido is also the son of Nigerian billionaire, business magnate and founder/president of Adeleke University, Adedeji Adeleke. The 28 year old singer doesn’t shy away at all from being his father’s son and makes his family name very known loud and proud in both his music, performances, and across social media.

4. Dr. Sid

Dr. Sid is a popular Nigerian singer who is a part of the very popular Mavin gang. He started dabbling in entertainment in 1999 and has since gone on to record hit songs like Something About You, Surulere, and Kabiyesi. He is also, you may not know, the son of veteran Nollywood actor Justus Esiri.

Unfortunately, Justus passed away in 2013 but his young, vibrant, and talented son Dr. Sid still keeps that family name burning high and bright.

5. Di’Ja

Nigerian singer Di’Ja is wildly famous for being a part of the MAVIN dynasty. She was featured on both of MAVIN’s hit songs, Dorobucci and Adaobi and on her own has gone on to amass significant success with hit singles such as Awww, The Way You Are, and Falling For You. Di’Ja is also the daughter of Sierra Leonean politician, Joe Blell who is a renowned politician from the opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party. He served as Sierra Leone’s High commissioner to Nigeria from 1993 to 2002 and was also Sierra Leone’s Deputy Minister of Defense from 2002 until 2007.

6. Beyonce Ajomiwe

Singer Beyonce Ajomiwe shot into the national consciousness after appearing on the competition reality TV show, Nigerian Idol. The very young and talented singer is the daughter of professional musician and audio engineer Prince Rolly Ajomiwe who has been showing very loud and proud support for his daughter during her time on the show.

7. Naeto C

Nigerian rapper Naeto C who blessed us with songs such as Ten Over Ten and I Gentle O is actually the son of former Nigerian Federal Minister of Aviation and current National Women Leader of the Nigerian political party PDP, Kema Chikwe. Kema actually stopped Naeto from entering music as she thought it wouldn’t be a good look as a politician’s child but many hits later, she’s more than happy and proud of all her son achieved as a musician.
