An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on Thursday requested that a 30 – year-elderly person, Emeka Ugwu, who supposedly assaulted a 21-year-elderly person be remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Center, pending legitimate counsel.
NAN reports that the Magistrate, Mrs B.O Osunsanmi , who didn’t take the supplication of the litigant requested that the case record be come back to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legitimate counsel.
Osunsanmi suspended the case until Jan. 24 for notice.
The litigant, whose address was not given, is accused of assault.
The Prosecutor, ASP Ezekiel Ayorinde, had told the court that Ugwu submitted the offense on Dec. 13, 2019 at Ogba, Lagos.
Ayorinde claimed that Ugwu hauled the unfortunate casualty into a room in an inn and assaulted her.
The examiner said that the respondent was captured and gave over to the police.
The offense, he stated, contradicted the arrangements of Section 260 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
