The royal couple had more control this time around over how they would welcome their baby girl into the world.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Have Welcomed Their Second Child

The Sussexes were prepped and ready to welcome their baby girl, Lilibet “Lili” Diana, into the world as calmly and peacefully as possible.

According to People, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle looked at a number of hospitals before ultimately deciding where they would give birth to their second child.

“They looked at several hospitals before they settled on the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital,” a source told the outlet. “Meghan loves that it’s female-founded.” Security and privacy were also a major factor for the couple when selecting their hospital.

“They had a big security team that the hospital needed to accommodate,” added the source.

The facility reportedly has a “state-of-the-art” childbirth center that offers a family-focused and personalized approach to individual birth experiences.

Meghan was reportedly overseen by Dr. Melissa Drake with remote support from Dr. Gowri Motha in the U.K, who helped Meghan during her first birth with her son Archie at London Portland Hospital.

Meghan previously detailed during her interview with Oprah Winfrey how stressful her first pregnancy was due to the immense, critical and invasive British tabloid coverage she endured and the internal tension brought on from adjusting to royal life.

While the couple introduced Archie to the public days after his birth with a small press appearance, this time around, Harry and Meghan are expected to share a photo of baby Lili on their own terms, without outside expectations from the royal institution.

“Meghan and Harry are both very thankful for how smoothly things went,” said the source. “They could enjoy the birth in peace.”
