30! It’s a huge milestone for many people. It is a time when everybody expects your ‘adult’ life to really start and as such, there is a huge responsibility and pressure that comes with the age. 30 is also a monumental time for people who have gone through it. They have described it as a time of wisdom, self-assuredness, and self-awareness so there’s also a lot to look forward to.
Today, we’ll be counting down 11 Nigerian Musicians Who Will Be Clocking 30 This Year! Are you ready to see who they are? Then let’s go!
1. Davido
Nigerian singer Davido is by far one of the most popular and most successful artistes out of Africa today. The singer responsible for such hits as Dami Duro, Fall, If, and more will be on the 21st of November this year clocking 30! I’m sure it’s going to be a grandiose event and I cannot wait to see how Davido celebrates the milestone.
2. Tjan
Singer Olasunmbo Tijani Fowosere popularly known as TJan is an amazing singer and songwriter with one of the best vocals in the country. The singer is responsible for such hits as Meji, Aduke, T’ure and more. On February 21st this year, TJan clocked the big 30.
3. Selebobo
Selebebo pon the beat oh! The one and only singer and producer Selebobo who has been in charging of blessing us with some of the bests songs from Nigeria’s finest artistes like Yemi Alade, Flavour, and Iyanya and has also made solo songs like Yoyo, Waka Waka, and Conquer, is also going to on July 29th this year clock the big 30!
4. Mz Kiss
Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter Akindele Justina Omowunmi popularly known as Mz Kiss is the hitmaker behind such songs as You Go Craz, Holla at Me, and Figure 8. On the 1st of September, this talented musician will also be turning 30.
5. Tekno
Augustine Miles Kelechi popularly known to many as Tekno is one of Nigeria’s top musicians and music producers. Tekno has been the hitmaker behind such hits as Pana, Yawa, Choko, Duro, and more. Tekno was born on the 17th of December, 1992 which means that on the 17th of December this year, the talented singer and songwriter will also be clocking 30.
6. DJ Cuppy
Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola popularly known to us all as DJ Cuppy is a Nigerian disc jockey, producer, and singer. She is also famously the daughter of business tycoon Femi Otedola. DJ Cuppy has been the brains behind such hit songs as Gelato, Jollof on the Jet, Karma, and more. On the 11th of November this year, DJ Cuppy will also be clocking 30 years old.
7. Whitemoney
Nigerian singer, songwriter, and reality TV star Hazel Oyeze Onou popularly known as Whitemoney was the winner of the Big Brother Naija: Shine Ya Eye season. After his win on that show, Whitemoney entered into music and has so far released one single Selense with an album on the way. Whitemoney on the 6th of July this year will also be clocking 30 years old.
8. Dencia
American/Nigerian/Cameroonian singer, entrepreneur, and fashion designer Reprudencia Ndong Sonkey popularly known as Dencia is the brains behind skincare line Whitenicious and also the singer of such songs as Beri Beri, Ella Eh, and Savage. Dencia will be clocking 30 later this month on March 26th.
9. Dammy Krane
Oyindamola Johnson Emmanuel popularly known as Dammy Krane is a famous Nigerian musician known for making such hits as Ligali, Amin, Gbetiti, and more. Dammy Krane is another artiste who will also be clocking 30 this year.
10. Kheengz
King Bawa popularly known as Kheengz is a Nigerian indigenous hip hop recording artist and actor. He has been responsible for making such songs as Jealousy, Who Be This Guy, Kala Kala, and more. Kheengz on the 8th of July this year will also be clocking 30.
11. Teni
Nigerian singer and songwriter Teniola Apata known popularly as Teni is the final singer on today’s list. Teni who is popular for making such hits as Askamaya, Uyo Meyo, Billionaire, and more will on the 23rd of December this year also clock the big 3.0.
