The Olukere of Ikere Ekiti, HRH Ayodele Oba Ganiyu offers prayers and makes sacrifices for a popular activist, Sunday Igboho’s protection.
He could be heard saying some incantations as he worshipped a powerful god which is rumoured to have maximum spiritual impact.
A chicken was sacrificed to the idol during the exercise. Sunday Igboho is a popular warlord who fought during the Modakeke-Ife war. He is famed for having spiritual powers.
Words on the streets have it that bullets, cutlasses and other dangerous objects can’t penetrate his body. He was reportedly shot by some Fulanis, and the bullets purportedly failed to penetrate his skin.
The Yorubas have been backing Sunday Igboho to help drive the Fulani herdsmen out of the South-western part of Nigeria.
