Five escaped mob action after being nabbed while trying to kill a 10-year-old kid in a bush in Jalingo, Taraba State’s capital.
The suspects who were paraded by the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) on Tuesday, January 14, tricked the kid to a bush close Kona town with claim of cutting their manager’s nails.
They were unconsciously followed and busted by residents who were suspicious of their motive of hiring the little boy.
Taraba State’s NSCDC representative, Godwin Peter who confirmed the arrest said;
“At the point when we got the security information that some young men suspected to have been doing ritualist activities in Kona town were gotten with a ten years of age kid, our men moves quickly to the town and arrested the situation.
“We went there and the villagers demanded that the five young men have been doing ritual killings and were dealing with human parts, the residents encouraged the security to investigate the five young men.”
Prior to their arrest, the suspects inflicted a deep machete cut on the back of the 10-year-old boy who was rushed to the Federal Medical Center in Jalingo.
It is normal that the suspected ritualists who have just admitted to the wrongdoing will be prosecuted toward the end of the investigation.
