Minister Adetokunbo Adenopo, founder of the New Life Ministry Church, arrested for conspiracy and kidnapping, has confessed to the Police that he did so in order to raise money; use the proceeds to expand his Church and assist people for the spread of the gospel.
The incident occurred at Lukosi region of Sagamu, Ogun State, where the Church is found.
In any case, Adenopo was captured nearby three different individuals from his posse – Chigozie Williams, 22, local of Umuahia North, Abia State; Ugoji Linus, 30, local of Ezinifite in Imo State; and Emmanuel Chris Ani, 27, local of Aniri in Enugu State.
They were captured by the Police agents from Ogun State Command and marched after the person in question, one Jonathan Ekpo, 35, was saved from bondage inside Pastor Adenopo’s Church.

During the parade, Adenopo clarified what drove him into abducting the person in question, Ekpo, who was a conveyance man. He advised newsmen that he required cash to help individuals just as grow his congregation.
“In my Church, we do charity; I share food and palliatives to people and this became stronger during the COVID-19. I felt pity for people and I don’t have any money in my account and people still come to me for help,” he said.
The Police confirmed that Ekpo, from Benue State, was kidnapped on seventeenth July, 2020, when he had gone to deliver goods. He was kept in an underground cabin in the Pastor’s Church and the captors started negotiating and demanded N20 million ransom for his release.

Be that as it may, the Police said the man was rescued nine days after the fact without paying the payment through insight and data which prompted the capture of the suspects, who will be charged before the Court after the conclusion of Investigation.
The alleged offense attracts several years of Imprisonment if they are tried and found guilty before the Court which might be the end of the Church.
