Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi
The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, is confronting perhaps the hardest time on the seat as his subjects have not only turned against him but also demanded his immediate dethronement over various infractions.
In a letter to the Osun State Government dated June 17, 2020, the Association of Iwoland Indigenes in Diaspora through their legal counselor, Peter Adeosun, raised various charges against the ruler, requiring his expulsion for net maltreatment of office.
They said Oba Akanbi’s character didn’t befit an individual of his status and gauge as he generally moved around with equipped hooligans, rapscallions and criminals to hassle, threaten, attack and assault people whom he sees as foes.

“Your Excellency, it is our brief as confirm by different correspondences made accessible to us by our clients that Oluwo Abdulrasheed Akanbi has been acting in habits which are contradictory to that of a ruler in any clime and unbecoming of a Yoruba Oba.
“It is accordingly debilitating to our clients that the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi (hereinafter alluded to as Oba Akanbi), a Yoruba lord who should be the overseer of Iwo culture and qualities has been distorting the enthusiasm of Iwoland and this is getting rather despicable,” the legal advisor kept in touch with the state senator.
