A 20 years old young lady, Miracle Kalu, who purportedly got pregnant without any father present, conveyed and sold her new born for N130,000, has been captured close by her associates.
Kalu, from Ohafia, Abia state, said lack of funds to take care of her wellbeing condition and fend for the baby forced her into selling her child, read more news here.
The suspect said after she got pregnant, her darling – whose house she doesn’t have the any idea – denied been liable for the pregnancy. .
The air pocket burst when two of her associates, Patrick Mbama, 41, and Ogechi Ekwebele, 30, were captured around 2a.m at Anthony, Lagos, while coming back from Imo state.
Lagos state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, said the baby was crying in the vehicle and the alleged mother of the child, Ekwebele, was encouraged to breastfeed the child yet her hesitation raised other passengers’ suspicion.
Odumosu stated: “Upon questioning, this particular childless couple claimed that a childless man and wife in Lagos had paid for the said baby.” Kalu, who spoke to journalists, said she was an orphan and a secondary school dropout.

The first counterfeit couple, Mbama and Ekwebele, purchased the child from Kalu for N130,000 and exchanged her for N150,000, to another couple, Izuchukwu Okafor, 51, and Cecilia Okafor, 40, in Lagos.
Okafor said it was the desperation to have to have a child of my own that pushed her into buying the baby. “Being barren for 15 years is not easy,” she added.
