The Kano State Police Command has captured a 30-year-old housewife, Hauwa Lawal, for purportedly pushing her co-spouse Zuwaira Sani, and her 18-month-old child into a well.
DSP Abdullahi Haruna, the Police Public Relations Officer affirmed the capture in a meeting with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday.
Haruna said the police got a report on Friday that Lawal of Rurum town of Rano Local Government Area of Kano, had pushed her co-spouse and infant into a well.
“The speculate had a misconception with the unfortunate casualty in the process they began battling in the house. The suspect drove her adversary alongside her 18-month-old child, Mustafa Gambo, whom she was backing into a very much arranged in their home”
He said.
He said the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Habu Sani-Ahmadu, requested the finding and capture of the escaping suspect inside 24 hours.
“Activity Puff-Adder got the ball rolling and captured the suspect on Saturday at about 1:17 a.m. The unfortunate casualties were expelled from the well and were raced to Rano Hospital where Sani was affirmed dead, while her child is alive and has been released from the emergency clinic. The suspect admitted to the wrongdoing,”
The PPRO said.
The PPRO said that the case had been moved to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for examination.
“When the investigation is finished the suspect would be charged to court,”
Haruna said.
