Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, has spoken on reports of him giving consideration to thoughts of coming back for the completion of his second term as president of the country.

Speaking briefly with reporters on Friday, December 4, the former Nigerian president who served one term, said that it is too early to talk about returning to office in 2023.

He stated this after attending an event organised by the Commonwealth Community Choir in Abuja.

Speculations have been circulating online and offline linking the ex-Bayelsa governor to a possible return to the office he left 5 years ago.

However, Jonathan has put a question mark on the speculations as he could not give a definite position on his rumoured ambition.

When asked if he would be joining the presidential race for 2023, and he said, “It is too early to talk about that.”

In 2015, President Muhammadu Buhari defeated the then incumbent President, Jonathan.

Recall that some governors and chieftains of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), had recently visited Jonathan at his Abuja residence, as pressure continues to mount on him to contest the 2023 election.

They visited Jonathan to felicitate with him on his 63rd birthday anniversary.
