The Lagos Inland Revenue Service (LIRS) says it created N25 billion through tax collection in April when there was all out lockdown.
Rasheed Olu-Ajayi, Head, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) of LIRS revealed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) by means of a select virtual gathering on Zoom on Saturday.
Mr Olu-Ajayi said the administration had the option to achieve the feat by leveraging on technology.
He said that however the income conjured was bad enough but rather it was better than beginning from ground zero taking to cognisance the all out lockdown.
As indicated by him, business was generally excellent due to mechanizing forms.
“What we did was to have a business continuity plan by documenting product, events with which we continue to work.
“So, we invoked technology tools, with lots of our staff, working from home but chasing taxpayers.
“We were able to invoke a good amount of money, not a case of ground zero.
“Nobody envisages that there would be a time that the whole globe would be lockdown and people would not be able to do anything.
“We were able to collect N25 billion in April when there was total lockdown,’’ he said.
As per him, this is a decent accomplishment.
Mr Olu-Ajayi said LIRS, as an office of Lagos State Government, has the duty of gathering charges and now and again, business advancement charges.
He said that charge assortment is basically the office task.
He said that without charge assortment, the advancement ventures in instruction, street and facilitating of traffic blockage among others being executed by the state government would not have been conceivable.

He said that was the reason the LIRS considered new ideas by investigating ICT to accomplish the fit in income age during the absolute lockdown.
