Zamfara House Of Assembly Shuts Down Amid Coronavirus Fear

The Zamfara State House of Assembly has said it has suspended every official movement including whole meetings pending when the novel coronavirus would be reduced.

This was uncovered by the Speaker of the House, Nasiru Magarya, in a press explanation marked by the House’s advertising Officer, Comrade Mustapha Jafaru Kaura and gave to newsmen in Gusau, the state capital Thursday.

As per the press explanation, Hon. Magarya communicated profound worry over the COVID-19 pandemic which he said is presently a worldwide concern.

The speaker noticed that the Assembly has dropped every one of its exercises including entire, advisory group sittings and oversight works as a major aspect of measures to reduce the spread of the coronavirus in the state.

“We are very much aware that there is no outbreak of the pandemic in the state, and we are also aware of the concerted efforts made by all relevant stakeholders to ensure that the disease would not get its way into the state” he noted..

“We commend the efforts of state government being led by Hon. Bello Mohammed Matawalle for taking proactive measures aimed at containing the spread of COVID-19 in the state.

” And we hope that with this suspension, members and staff of the State House of Assembly will stay at home until further notice,” he said.
